Huawei, in collaboration with the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV), launched the “Huawei Technology Scholarship” campaign to support the education of female students studying technology and information sciences, aiming to involve more women in the field of technology.
The initiative not only provides financial support but also includes education, internship opportunities, and mentorship programs to foster career development for female students. Huawei, known for its commitment to Turkey’s educational future since 1967, aims to increase the number of women in technology-related fields through this collaboration with TEV. Marco Xu, Vice President responsible for Central Asia and the Caucasus Region, emphasized the necessity of a more connected world facilitated by the coordination of individuals, institutions, and industries.
Mine Zaim, Director of Marketing Communications at Huawei Turkey, highlighted the importance of sustainable development for national progress and expressed their goal to enrich students’ capabilities through collaboration in human resources and educational fields, beyond financial means.
Şenol Özdemir, Deputy General Manager of TEV, expressed satisfaction with the partnership with Huawei, a significant global technology company, noting TEV’s longstanding commitment to supporting young achievers in their educational journeys with 223,600 domestic and 1,665 international education scholarships to date. Özdemir emphasized the potential of the Technology Scholarship to contribute significantly to increasing awareness of gender equality and expressed hopes to expand the project in collaboration with Huawei to reach more female students in the coming years.
